Y’all, the struggle to get into a regular workout routine continues to be REAL. I know having the accountability of a workout buddy or a trainer would be super helpful, but I just haven’t been able to find anyone on my schedule, nor have I wanted to pay anyone. Ha maybe some day. But lately, I’ve had the best luck with just working out in my living room on a yoga mat with a few free weights. Then I discovered YouTube! Seriously, what did we do before the internet? There is a WEALTH of information, videos, and workout plans to keep me entertained and active without getting bored.
In fact, I devised a little plan to follow for the next few weeks that I’m actually looking forward to! Check it out:
Monday: Lower Body (Plus permission to dance like a maniac!)
Tuesday: Upper Body (basic, but focused)
Wednesday: Cardio (or I might actually run…and by run, I mean walk fast)
Saturday: Something outdoors!
Sunday: Yoga or Pilates
My Favorite Channels and Playlists:
PopSugar Fitness – mostly cardio, organized by length of time.
BeFIT – organized by type, including yoga, and has series like “30 Day Fat Burn.”
Brett Larkin Yoga – favorite yoga instructor with all different styles and lengths of time. I want to try out the 18 days of yoga series!
Jillian Michaels – this lady kicks butt on TV and online, and here’s a compiled list of her (possibly pirated) videos.
BodyFit by Amy – the unsung Jillian Michaels. So many videos. For everything!
Tracy Anderson Pregnancy Project – for all my preggos out there! This non-preggo tried out a video from the early months and I’m STILL sore. If you’ve ever been to a Define or Barre method class, they’re a little like that with tiny movements that BURN.
Maybe the real secret is that I need some online accountability! Who’s in??
